Hello! I am a fellow at Harvard University after receiving my master’s from the University of Tokyo in 2022. My research focuses on the relationship between the evolution of human diet, microbiota-gut-brain axis, and eating behavior.
My current research delves into how industrialization impacts food preferences via the microbiota-gut-brain axis. This work builds on my master’s thesis, where I explored the influence of dietary fiber intake on food preferences, specifically focusing on the mediating role of the gut microbiota.
In Japan, I am affiliated with the Department of Human Ecology at the University of Tokyo and Laboratory of Microbiome Sciences at the RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences. At Harvard University, I am affiliated with the Nutrition & Microbial Ecology Laboratory in the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology.
